Talent Show

Hey guys! I just wanted to let you know that I am going to try out for the talent show with my friend Cameron. We are doing the dance to the song Heaven. (Remixed) We have auditions on March 12th. The talent show is going to be on the 27th. (Friday) Please wish me luck! ;)

Dedicated to Brittany. A great friend that I really miss.

It is my original song that my friend wrote for me and I went through and decided what sound I wanted to put into it. This really doesn't sound like my voice that you would hear if I had used the camera, but I used my Mom's notebook and it doesn't have the best mic. I have a rough patch that I forgot what I had decided to do the sound for and I really sing it wrong on 2:18. Sorry about that, it sounds HORRIBLE! Anyway, I hope you enjoy this video and just ignore that place that I told you about. :) ENJOY!

Results

I am sorry it took me so long to post this...
It turns out they wanted older people more then people my age I guess. The youngest person that made it was 17. I do not feel bad at all because of the ages. There is always next year!
I found out about another competition that I would like to enter, this one is a lot bigger then the one I entered. I think I have a better chance of making it is I do this contest because they have two age groups. One is 6-12 and the other is 13 and up. Mom thinks it looks cheesy so I might not get to enter. I don't know, The people who make it get to go to Florida to audition for more important people. Doesn't that sound cool? I will tell you if I end up entering it. =D

I am so nervous!

I sang today in the competition and I think I did really well. I had absolutely no shyness at all! I sand a song called "Pieces of Me" by Ashlee Simpson. Tomorrow they will call me from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. to tell me if I placed (first to fourth). I am hoping I do place. God has been answering my prayers! Thanks for all of you support and keep praying for me tomorrow. I am really excited!!! Mom and Dad only could video tape and take pictures with their phones because we went unexpectedly after we were done shopping in Office Depot. There are more good pics on Dad's phone then there are on Mom's, so I will try to get Dad's picture and video.

Singing Contest

Hey guys! I am so sorry I have not posted for a long time. Lets just say, soccer season is back, and school is keeping me busy. I just wanted to let you guys know that I am entering a singing competition. the grand prize is 15 hundred! I really hope I win! I have been wanting to save up for a laptop and I am hoping I will place and it will help me get there. I will be singing before he cheats, which I think is a funny song that has a good beat. Please pray that I will do well and for my shyness on stage to disappear. As you have found out in one of my past posts, I want to be a singer when I grown. up. This might help me get closer to the dream.

Miley Cyrus' new album!

BREAKOUT

Miley's new album is great. It is a lot more mature then the first and second even though the those were great too. Each album is more mature then the album she made before it. One of my favorite songs from the album is These Four Walls. So if you go on i tunes you might want to think about purchasing that great song. This is an album that I think more teenagers will be interested in. This album also is only Miley and not Hannah so it is only one cd. This is a great sound track and I think you should give it a chance.

Great Talent Show

I am sure I told you all about this, I had a talent show on Friday at my school. I was singing Exceptional. I was very excited and nervous but everyone said I did great. My best friend Rachel as I talk about a lot was also in it, playing violin. I did a lot better then I thought I would not being shy to the audience. I am not a shy girl at all but sometimes when I get in front of crowds I get a little shy. At the end of the day I had a bunch of people, some that I did not even know, say "Great job Darrah!". I have had a great year at school this year and I hope next year will be the same. Big 5th grade! Here is a video of me singing Exceptional.

Talent Show results

I almost did not make it because I was not allowed to song with music that had the words... but thankfully, Mom bought a program for her computer that you can take lyrics out. That rule was created because last year there were some kids that got up there and were embarrassed to they lip sang. I would not of done that though. Now I am in but I was really upset when they did not put me on the list that made it because they were still helping me try to find the music. When I was done they really wanted me to make it they said, but I could not be in it unless I got the music without the words because it would be unfair to the other kids who had words with music and did not make it. I totally understand that! I was a little mad at my music teacher because Mom had talked to her and she said I could still perform if we could not find the music. Okay, anyway, I made it now for sure. Mom went and showed the karaoke music to my music teacher and she said it was good! I am really excited! I think your guys encouragement helped me in the tryouts! Thanks a lot!

My Dreams

I know my blog is called Darrah's Dreams, and I haven't put my dream on here. Sometimes I wonder if my dream is the right path for me or if I would hate it after a while, but my dream is that I would become a singer. I have wanted this since I was 6 or 7 years old and now I want it more then ever. After I go to a concert like Aly and AJ or Miley Cyrus I come home and that night I have a dream that I became famous. I am not lying at all! To see the person up on stage makes me wonder how it feels. I have been up in front of my school to do quite a few things like sing with my friend, now this year for the Talent Show I am singing Exceptional by JoJo. I am nervous because this is the first time I have been up to sing solo with out one of my friends beside me. I have sang solo in front of people but always had someone standing there with me.

When I was 5 or 6 I was in a Christmas Church play, the director asked who wanted to try out to sing solo. I raised my hand right away. She said "Darrah, are you sure you want to sing by yourself?" You could tell she was surprised. I nodded and wanted to say, "The older kids are not the only ones who can sing!" Surprisingly I got a solo singing a remixed version of a song. After the performance I felt really good! That is when I started to love music and listen to a lot of it. Before, I had listened to it but not really loved it like I do now.

As you know, now I play guitar and I love to sing! I hope that my career will involve singing when I get older!

American Idol

Have you guys been watching American Idol? I have. My favorite girl is Carly. I think she is sweet but I also think she has a lot of tattoos and so does her husband. I think elimination night is tonight so I think I will watch it is it is on in about 7 minutes. It is my new favorite t.v. show and it is just recently that I have started watching it almost every night it comes on! I have to go watch it now... or at least get ready to watch it. Bye!
